Shawn Dolley is Cloudera’s Industry Leader, Health & Life Science. Shawn leads Cloudera’s precision medicine, real world evidence and clinical prediction vision, roadmap and partnerships, and helps Cloudera’s over 100 customers develop use cases on the business side of research, discovery, and translational medicine. Shawn co-led the Healthcare & Life Science industry practice at Netezza, and when acquired by IBM was a part of IBM’s Public Sector industry practice. Shawn designed a Health Outcomes Analytic Appliance in conjunction with Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, as well as working with IBM Watson Healthcare professionals. He has worked with Dr. Paul Grundy, the godfather of PCMH, on methods to apply analytics to large populations, and on global epidemiology response.
Shawn has presented to and collaborated with multiple health systems, health plans, pharma, and research organizations, as well as Big Data technology providers. Shawn has worked in data science, management consulting, and business transformation since 1995. Shawn is a member of the International Society of Pediatric Innovation and the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health. Shawn’s first experience with the OMOP Common Data Model was in 2009, and most recently Shawn has acted as the interim moderator of the OHDSI Hadoop Working Group. Today, Shawn’s most focused work is on repeatable, affordable solutions for matching molecular data with clinical/phenotype at a patient level, and prediction of clinical events.
