Sebastiaan van Sandijk is a Clinical Informatician at Odysseus Data Services where he works on data harmonisation, federated analysis and collaborative network studies, leveraging the OMOP common data model and OHDSI tools like Atlas and Arachne. With his health informatics background, he has broad experience with interoperability and multidisciplinary collaboration in bigger and smaller healthcare settings.
He is member of the Dutch HL7 FHIR Validation Team and has worked on FHIR-based solutions to make EHR data (re)usable for outcome monitoring. Other interests include Value Based Health Care/Triple Aim and using concepts of functioning (ICF) and ‘experienced health’ to leverage the end-user (patient) perspective in healthcare practice. Sebastiaan is currently involved in the IMI European Health Data & Evidence Network (EHDEN) program, which is tasked with building the European Federated network of Healthcare data to be used for generating real-world evidence (RWE) on the basis of observational data at scale.
