Rupa Makadia, PhD, MS is an Associate Director at Janssen Research and Development, a Johnson & Johnson company. Her area of expertise includes epidemiologic analysis of patient populations in various therapeutic areas using observational claims data. She has been leading efforts within Janssen to use observational data for clinical trial feasibility using OHDSI tools. She has been closely involved in converting data into the common data model and conducting epidemiological studies at Janssen. Rupa received her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, her Master of Science in Biostatistics from California State University East Bay, and a PhD in Biomedical Informatics at Rutgers University. Prior to Janssen R&D, Rupa worked in various roles within the health informatics space at Kaiser Permanente and Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.
