Ayan Patel is currently the lead data scientist for the University of California, Health system in the Center for Data-driven Insights & Innovation. He received his M.S degree in Health Informatics in 2011 from the UC Davis School of Medicine and his B.S degree in Computer Science in 2007 from the UC Davis College of Engineering. He has held management and individual contributor roles at UC Davis Health, UCLA Health, UC Irvine Health, and UCSF Health on both IT teams and research teams. He currently leads the data operations of the UC Health Data Warehouse which includes coordinating, maintaining, and updating source ETLs from all UC Health sites into a single OMOP dataset and delivering data for UC-wide programs: Quality & Population Health, Leveraging Scale for Value Supply Chain, Self-Funded Health Plans, Strategy, UC Cancer Consortium, and the UC BRAID CTSA Consortium.
