Theodore (Ted) Giovanis, FHFMA, MBA, is President and founder of the Jayne Koskinas Ted Giovanis Foundation for Health and Policy that conducts research in the health policy and clinical arenas. He was previously President of T. Giovanis & Company, LLC a health policy and reimbursement consultancy, specializing in strategic reimbursement advice, policy development, and advocacy on behalf of a wide variety of clients in both the Medicare and Medicaid payment areas across a wide cross spectrum of the different payment systems. He has also served in many senior provider and health system management positions. Ted was one of the original staff of the Maryland rate setting system which designed and implemented its per discharge payment system and total patient revenue system (a cap on total per hospital payments).
Ted was also solely responsible for the identification and prosecution of Medicare’s error involving the rural floor budget neutrality issue, which resulted in a multibillion-dollar settlement for hospitals nationally.
Personally, Ted is an accomplished professional sports car driver and team owner in the International MotorSports Association.
