Stephen is currently a Director of Real World Data Analytics and Research within the Medical Devices Epidemiology department at Johnson & Johnson. Stephen is an experienced health economics and epidemiology researcher with particular expertise in real-world, retrospective database analyses. Stephen’s areas of research have spanned a wide variety of therapeutic areas and topical subjects, including surgical interventions, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic pain conditions, HIV, oncology, mental health conditions, prescription formulary policy, and healthcare benefit plan design, among others.
Prior to joining J&J, Stephen was most recently a Senior Director at Truven Health Analytics, where he led multidisciplinary teams of researchers, programmer/analysts, and statisticians to complete protocol-driven research studies for clients in the pharmaceutical industry. Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Economic Policy Analysis, both from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Stephen is currently finishing his Ph.D. dissertation research with a focus on health economics and policy at UMBC.
