Is there a fee to attend the Symposium?
The registration fee for the main conference on Friday, Oct. 14 is $500. The registration fee for the full-day tutorial on Saturday, Oct. 15 is $300. However, this is an open and inclusive event; if the registration fee represents a burden to you, please contact symposium@ohdsi.org.

How do I change or cancel my attendance at the Symposium events?
Upon registration completion you received an Eventbrite confirmation email. On that email it states, “view and manage your order online.” After you click on this link, it will take you to Eventbrite where you can either create an account or log into your existing account. Once you are on the Eventbrite website, you may click on the event name and then EDIT (on the right side) and make your changes and then click SAVE at the bottom of the page.
You may cancel your main and tutorial registrations up until 7 days prior to event start date. You may log into your Eventbrite account and click Cancel on the left side of the page. You will receive a cancellation email from Eventbrite; please note that Eventbrite fees are not refundable.
What other activities are being offered on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16?
OHDSI will be hosting a series of workgroup-led working meetings on Saturday, Oct 15 and Sunday, Oct 16. These meetings will take advantage of the opportunity to be together in one place, and work on focus on networking, collaboration, and delivering advances toward the OHDSI mission. We will also hold a cross-workgroup summit on Sunday, Oct 16 to bring together collaborators across our community to share their progress and plans for the journey ahead. The deadline to submit a brief report was Friday, June 24 by 8 pm ET and we are no longer accepting submissions.
Are sleeping rooms being offered at the Bethesda North Marriott for the Symposium?
UPDATE: THE OHDSI HOTEL ROOM BLOCK IS NOW FULL- YOU CAN STILL MAKE A RESERVATION ON THE HOTEL’S WEBSITE
OHDSI is holding a sleeping room block for the nights of Oct. 13 and 14 with a special room rate of $179 plus taxes. Please note that all sleeping rooms are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help us in the planning process, we ask that you do not cancel your hotel room ordered through the OHDSI Room Block. If you must cancel, please let us know prior to Thursday, Sept. 1, so that we can offer the room to others who may need one. Once the room block is full, or if specific nights are sold out, you may make additional room reservations on the hotel’s website or by calling hotel reservations. Please note that OHDSI is not holding any sleeping rooms on Saturday, Oct. 15. Therefore, please call the hotel reservations number or make this reservation on the hotel’s website should you plan to stay Saturday night.
Note: If you plan to stay both Oct. 13 and 14, and you find the night of Oct. 14 sold out on the OHDSI room block, please still make your reservation for Oct. 13 through the OHDSI room block and make the additional night by calling the hotel or going through the hotel’s website. Should you put in any other dates on the OHDSI room block, you will get a note saying that rooms are unavailable as the room block does not include pre and post room-night stays; therefore, please adjust the nights in your search to just the room block dates which are Oct. 13 and 14 only.
Note: If you have multiple reservations at the Bethesda North Marriott, as long as you book the same room type, you will be able to stay in one room the entire time; just stop by the front desk and they will update your keys and credit card info.

Will meals be provided at the Symposium?
Lite breakfast items and a buffet lunch will be offered at the Symposium on Friday, October 14, outside the Grand Ballroom, Salon A-D and on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16, lower level of the hotel. Please check the agenda for details as we get closer to the event date.
Will there be a webcast or virtual component of the Symposium?
No, there is no webcast or virtual component of the symposium. Videos will be available on our website 2-3 weeks after the symposium concludes.

Is there parking at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel?
Yes. The hotel charges a $19 daily parking fee for registered guests. For those who drive and are not guests of the hotel, there is a conference center garage located off Executive Boulevard right near the entrance to the conference center.
