Bozhu’s area of expertise includes data product development in marketing and medical domains, statistical modeling, as well as machine learning and NLP solutions in medical context. With ~10 years of IQVIA and YIDU CLOULD experiences, Bozhu gained rich experiences of data management and analytics in real world studies, and deeply involved into digital adoption and novel solutions in real world studies as well.
Clair Blacketer, MPH, PMP

Clair Blacketer is a Manager in the Epidemiology Analytics group within Epidemiology at Janssen Research & Development, a Johnson & Johnson company. She began her career at a regional health
system in her home state of Virginia focused on health outcomes research, specifically in patients with sepsis. She then moved on to studying Medicare health care economics at a large payer and while there she was instrumental in implementing a novel way to track dual-enrolled Medicare retirees. Clair joined Janssen in 2015 where her main area of focus has been observational data management. This includes managing multiple ETL conversions to the OMOP Common Data Model as well as serving as project manager for the Common Data Model working group. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from James Madison University and her Master in Public Health from Eastern Virginia Medical School. Clair is also a certified Project Management Professional.
Connor Callahan, Data Scientist, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Connor Callahan is a data scientist for the PEDSnet Data Coordinating Center (DCC) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. PEDSnet is a multi-institute pediatric learning health network that standardizes clinical data to the OMOP CDM. He leads data quality efforts of all incoming data from PEDSnet institutions and conducts retrospective research using that data.
Connor has a Masters of Science in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics from Columbia University. He has a background using data science in the financial technology industry.
Frank Dimartini

Frank is an Associate Director at IQVIA within the OMOP team. He manages a team of analysts and developers who perform OMOP conversions. He has worked on multiple OMOP conversions internally at IQVIA and externally across the globe ranging from project oversight to writing ETL code for the conversions on various source systems.
Frank’s technical experience is focused on ETL development, database design, database administration and performance tuning. Frank has strong expertise in business intelligence, reporting, analytics and process automation.
Frank attends the OHDSI collaborator’s and EHR working group meetings. He has also contributed an ETL poster to the OHDSI symposium and provided assistance for the OHDSI symposium training classes.
Asieh Golozar

Asieh Golozar is a director of Epidemiology and Real World Evidence within the Oncology Business Unit, global Medical Affairs organization at AstraZeneca. Asieh received her Doctoral degree in Epidemiology and a Masters of Health Sciences in Biostatistics from JHU which was supported by a postdoctoral research fellowship award with the NCI, Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics. Prior to that, she trained as a medical doctor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Upon receiving her PhD, she joined the faculty at the Department of Epidemiology, JHU School of Public Health focusing on cancer and diabetes epidemiology, application of epidemiologic and statistical methods for robust synthesis of evidence from epidemiologic data and applying evidence-based findings to strengthen public heath infrastructure and policies. Upon joining industry, Asieh has been responsible for leading life cycle management and real-world evidence generation activities in different therapeutic areas including oncology and women’s health. She holds an adjunct faculty position at the JHU School of Public Health.
Michael Gurley

I am a health informatics programmer in the Northwestern Applied Research Informatics Group. My main focus has been on building solutions for the integration of data extracted from the Northwestern Medicine Electronic Data Warehouse (NMEDW) with curated data. I have worked on applications for the retrieval, extraction, normalization and curation of cancer, pathology and movement disorder data.
I have built the OMOP Abstractor Ruby on Rails application for deriving discrete data points from narrative text via natural language processing (NLP). The application includes a user interface to present suggestions for confirmation/revision by a curator and supports presenting the mix of abstracted data with non-abstracted data. The application is built on top of the OMOP clinical data model.
I have used the OHDSI OMOP CDM as a normalization format for the support of oncology clinical research and quality repositories. To help expand the OHDSI OMOP CDM’s capability to represent oncology data, I have been an active member of the OHDSI OMOP CDM Oncology workgroup. I am a co-author of the Oncology CDM Extension Proposal. I also support the implementation of the OMOP CDM for Northwestern’s participation within the All of Us Research program.
Vojtech Huser, MD, PhD

Dr. Huser was born in the Czech Republic. He received his medical doctor degree (MD) from Palacky University (Olomouc, Czech Republic, EU) and PhD degree in Biomedical informatics from University of Utah (Salt Lake City, Utah, USA). He is currently affiliated with National Institutes of Health (NIH), Laboratory for Informatics Development at the NIH Clinical Center. His research interests are: clinical informatics, knowledge representation, clinical research informatics, data repositories and data analysis, workflow technology, executable clinical guidelines, medical decision support systems and quality improvement in healthcare. As an informatician, Dr. Huser worked with numerous informatics systems at Intermountain Healthcare in Utah, Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin, and NIH in Maryland (intramural campus). He is a former Fulbright scholar (his PhD degree) and recipient of the Young Investigator Award from HMO Research Network. He is a member of American Medical Informatics Association.
Dr. Huser published articles about clinical trial registries and analyzed submitted basic summary data by individual clinical trials within the cClinicalTrials.gov registry. He is an expert in knowledge representation and formulated desiderata for healthcare data repositories. His prior work on process modeling and graphical flowchart models of medical problems is relevant to formulating user-friendly and computable phenotype definitions and representations as well as clinical decision support or clinical trial protocols.

Also interested in tracing trajectories of lab values from the subgroups of various diseases and utilizing image deep learning to improve heart and lung disease prediction problems.

Prior to joining Odysseus, Greg had spent over 18 years of in Life Sciences sector where he was leading global IT teams building complex data-driven solutions in R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Medical, Commercial and Enterprise organizations, including in AstraZeneca and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Kristin Kostka, MPH

Kristin is an Associate Director running the OMOP Data Network at IQVIA. Her day job is centered around driving more participation in open network research in the US, Canada and Latin America. Kristin’s team assists sites in their OMOP CDM development including providing guidance on mapping standards, vocabulary mapping, orienting sites on ETL tools available in the OHDSI community and education of ETL best practices. She is an active OHDSI tutorial lead, regularly traveling to sites to train community researchers on the OHDSI tool stack and the OHDSI methods library.
Kristin has a decade of hands-on time in the trenches of healthcare and life sciences leading real world evidence generation studies, designing and implementing enterprise data lakes, conducting large-scale multinational clinical trials and preparing regularly submissions. Prior to joining IQVIA in February 2019, she was mostly recently a Data Science Lead for ConvergeHEALTH, a division of Deloitte Consulting.
Within OHDSI, Kristin sits on the OHDSI Steering Committee, the US Symposium Scientific Committee, the Women of OHDSI group, the OHDSI Study Nurture Committee and regularly leads OHDSI network studies. Kristin co-authored three chapters of the Book of OHDSI [book.ohdsi.org] (Where to Begin, Building Cohorts and OHDSI Network Research). Her OHDSI passion project is the idea of “studies on studies” — evaluating the best way to disseminate evidence once its generated.
Kristin is a recipient of many industry awards including: the 2018 OHDSI Titan Award in Community Collaboration, a 3- time recipient of Deloitte Outstanding Performance Award and an 8-time recipient of the Deloitte Applause Award for exceptional client service. Kristin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Elon University and a Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology from Boston University School of Public Health.

Jing is responsible for conducting China OMOP studies and introducing OHDSI analytical methods to the broader group in China. Her work includes performing real world evidence research using OHDSI OMOP model, coordinating and leading multi-center, multi-country studies, and executing quality assurance checks on OMOP CDM databases around the world. She has been an active contributor to OHDSI China activities, such as the Book of OHDSI translation, and China vocabulary standardization.
Jing received her undergraduate degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, and Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in the US. Prior to IQVIA, she worked for Travelers Insurance (MN, USA) and Ant Financial (Shanghai, China) on predictive modeling and statistical analysis
Xin Li

Xin is a senior data scientist of Data Science Department at Yiducloud, focusing on the processing and application of medical data. Xin’s areas of expertise include software development, ETL of data, construction of medical database, real-world data mining and analysis, and data model/standard of clinical system informatics. Xin has an educational background of Computer Science and has gained extensive experience in the application of medical data especially real-world data.
Xin is an active learner, tracker and thinker on OHDSI. In 2019, Xin participated in multiple trainings of OHDSI through network, such as The Real World and Big Data Analysis Training at Fudan University Shanghai Medical School in August, one day’s OHDSI training in Huzhou, Zhejing Province in November, and other online courses on YouTube. In 2020, participated in the Chinese transaction of The OHDSI Book with other volunteers. In recent years, Xin is thinking about the application of OHDSI in Chinese medical data and how OHDSI can improve and accelerate the real-world study in China.

Within OHDSI, Ajit leads the Achilles work group, the Metadata work group, and the development of the Data Quality Dashboard.
Ajit received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and his Master’s in Public Health (Epidemiology) from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. He previously worked in the Epidemiology Analytics group at Janssen R&D and in various roles in Johnson & Johnson IT.
Xiaojun Ma, PhD

Xiaojun Ma received her PhD in Medical Science from The University of Tokyo, and MS and BS in Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She has nearly 10 years of experience in medical informatics, focusing on real-world data analysis including electronic health records, and claims. Her research interest is clinical information extraction by hybridising knowledge-based and data-driven approaches serving applications such as deep phenotyping. She has been working on medical ontology construction, clinical natural processing language, and application of machine learning in medicine especially dealing with the problem of lack of annotated data.

Robert Miller joined the Informatics team at Tufts CTSI in early 2017. His main focus has been the full-stack development of a research data warehouse from disparate health record systems. He is an active contributor to the Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (OHDSI) community where he leads the geographic information systems (GIS) working group.
Robert earned his MS in Computer Science from the University of Southern Maine in 2016. During his time at USM, he worked as a graduate assistant for the Health Informatics Research Cluster at USM, a research associate for the Muskie School of Public Health, and a health services research intern for Maine Medical Center Research Institute.
Karthik Natarajan, PhD

Dr. Karthik Natarajan is an Assistant Professor in the Department Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University. He received his BS in computer science at the University of Texas at Austin. After working in the technology sector, he went on to obtain his PhD in biomedical informatics at Columbia University. Dr. Natarajan’s research interests are in operationalizing clinical informatics solutions. His specific area of interest is in applying scalable information retrieval and text processing methods on clinical data in order to build applications that will support both health professionals and researchers. Dr. Natarajan is an active member of the Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (OHDSI) collaborative and particpates in the CDM and NLP working groups. He is currently working on converting United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) data to enable transplant outcomes analysis. He is also actively working on using OMOP to integrate EHR data from various sites in the All of Us Research Program. As part of the coordinating center, he helps with educating new members on ETL processes into the OMOP common data model. Dr. Natarajan also oversees the local instances of OHDSI at Columbia University and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Anna Ostropolets is a PhD Student at the Department of Biomedical Informatics of Columbia University. She is working with George Hripcsak on applying observational health data to real-world clinical problems. Anna has been a member of the OHDSI Vocabulary Team since 2016, contributing to OMOP Vocabularies development and maintenance with the main focus in Drug Domain.
Anna received her medical degree in Kharkiv National Medical University and completed her Internal Medicine residency in the Pulmonology department. Before joining Columbia, she worked as a Data Analyst in Odysseus Data Services, with a full stack of tasks related to ETL, from data analysis vocabulary standardization to observational studies on transformed data.

Youjin Park is an integrated-PhD candidate in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the Ajou University School of Medicine. She holds her PharmD from Ehwa Women’s University College of Pharmacy in 2017. She constructed the ICARUS database (Immune/Inflammatory Disease Common Data Model Augmentation for Research Union System) and recently did trajectory analysis based on the ICARUS database. She is interested in disease and drug surveillance, and recently have been studying immune/inflammatory disease like asthma.
She joined OHDSI in 2018 and presented a poster and software demonstration (ICARUS WINGS) in the OHDSI US Symposium. She also participated and prepared a Patient-Level Prediction tutorial program in the 2019 OHDSI Korea International Symposium.
Meghan Pettine

Meghan is a Senior Consultant at IQVIA within the OMOP Factory. Her areas of expertise include data analysis, ETL conversions, agile process, and project management. She has worked on multiple OMOP conversions as an analyst to convert IQVIA data into the OMOP model and also present the final product for validation to internal business stakeholders. Meghan also works with the remote studies team and external clients on data investigation into the OMOP data as well as the native data. Meghan is a contributor to the OHDISI community through multiple working groups. She has been an active member of THEMIS meetings and is currently the lead for Group 1. She has also coordinated with the Hadoop working Group and the Symposium Planning Committee. She is also responsible for training internal IQVIA peers on OMOP as well as external clients.

Melanie Philofsky is a Senior Business & Data Analyst with Odysseus Data Services, Inc. She is responsible for the harmonization of various healthcare data sources into the OMOP Common Data Model to support research endeavors. Her areas of expertise include clinical informatics, data analysis, data quality, ETL conversions, EHR data, the OMOP CDM and data modeling of new domains. Prior to earning her MS in Healthcare Informatics, she was an ICU RN. She knows and understands the clinical workflow and UI of an EHR system to the backend where data is pulled for transformation to the OMOP CDM.
Melanie is the EHR working group lead and a collaborator in the CDM/Vocabulary working group, Symposium Planning Committee and Themis.
Hanieh Razzaghi, MPH

Hanieh Razzaghi is currently the Assistant Director of the PEDSnet Data Coordinating Center (DCC) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. PEDSnet is a multi-institute pediatric learning health network that standardizes clinical data to the OMOP CDM. In her current role, she oversees programmatic and scientific operations related to data quality, query fulfillment, and data integration. Her research interests are in developing metadata standards that describe data quality, provenance, and dataset construction in large-scale research networks. She also is working on developing methods to efficiently translate scientific inquiry into data variables that can be consumed by databases. Prior to PEDSnet, Hanieh worked in both academic and healthcare settings conducting epidemiological research and implementing learnings to health systems. Hanieh has a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Yale University where she focused her studies in epidemiology. She is currently enrolled as a student at Drexel University, where she is pursuing a doctorate in Information Studies. She hopes to focus her research and work on data semantics, metadata standards and reasoning, and data quality development.
Anthony Reckard, Solutions Architect, IQVIA
Anthony is a Solutions Architect within the IQVIA OMOP team. He has been with IQVIA since 2009 and moved to the OMOP team as it was being formed. He led several conversions and helped define the team’s development and production processes to maximize run times and reduce cost. He also consults with other organizations helping them setup their OMOP environments from scratch. In the OHDSI community, Anthony is involved in planning and supporting training events such as study-a-thons. In 2018 he participated in the first Chinese Hackathon hosted in Shanghai. Anthony’s 20+ years of experience range from business intelligence, database programming, design & administration, to API and front-end development. He enjoys exploring new technologies and collaborating with others on how they can benefit the OHDSI community.
Christian Reich, MD, PhD

At IQVIA, Christian is responsible for building open OHDSI study networks for RWE generation as a service, including the building of enabling technology solutions. Christian is also Principal Investigator of OHDSI, and also served as Program Manager and Principal Investigator at OMOP. He responsible for the design and construction of the OMOP Standardized Vocabularies and leads the Common Data Model Working Group.
Christian has more than 15 years of experience in life science research and medicine. He was a practicing physician in Berlin and Ulm, Germany before moving to the European Bioinformatics Institute to work on the Human Genome Project. He then joined the biotech industry in 1998, where he worked in various positions on typical challenges in drug research and development, such as gene sequence and expression analysis, clinical trial design and analysis, systems biology, and outcome research, applying computational methods to large scale biological data. He received his bachelor’s degree in preclinical training from Humboldt University in Berlin and holds his M.D. and doctorate from the Medical University of Lübeck, Germany where he focused his research on T-cell activation and regulation.

Patrick Ryan, PhD is Senior Director of Epidemiology and the Head of Epidemiology Analytics at Janssen Research and Development, where he is leading efforts to develop and apply analysis methods to better understand the real-world effects of medical products. He is currently a collaborator in Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (OHDSI), a multi-stakeholder, interdisciplinary collaborative to create open-source solutions that bring out the value of observational health data through large-scale analytics. He served as a principal investigator of the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP), a public-private partnership chaired by the Food and Drug Administration, where he led methodological research to assess the appropriate use of observational health care data to identify and evaluate drug safety issues.
Patrick received his undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Operations Research at Cornell University, his Master of Engineering in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering at Cornell, and his PhD in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Patrick has worked in various positions within the pharmaceutical industry at Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline, and also in academia at the University of Arizona Arthritis Center.
Selva Muthu Kumaran Sathappan, MSc

Selva received his masters degree from Nanyang Technological University in

Anthony Sena

Anthony Sena is an Associate Director of Epidemiology Analytics at Janssen Research and Development where he architects software solutions and data platforms for the analysis and application of observational data sources. Anthony’s areas of expertise include web application development, data modeling, information visualization, technology infrastructure, project management and informatics. He is currently a collaborator on a number of open-source software solutions in OHDSI (https://github.com/anthonysena) and is one of the co-leads of the ATLAS & WebAPI working group (http://www.ohdsi.org/web/wiki/doku.php?id=projects:workgroups:atlas-webapi). His focus is on expanding the capabilities of the OHDSI open-source solution architecture to enable transparent and reproducible research using observational data.
Prior to joining Janssen Research and Development, Anthony held many leadership and technical roles of increasing responsibility across a range of business sectors including energy, pharmaceuticals, retail and financial services. Anthony received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Drew University.
Lingyi Tang, MS, PMP

Lingyi is an OMOP Consultant and Project Associate at IQVIA. He is also Secretary for OHDSI China. Lingyi coordinates and teaches at OHDSI events in China, such as the OHDSI China Annual Symposium and OHDSI tutorials in China. He also promotes OHDSI various sources such as online media, website, online forum and WeChat in China. He contributed a lot to the translation of Book of OHDSI and Atlas in Chinese.
Lingyi received his undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics at East China University of Science and Technology, his Master of Science in Applied Mathematics at University of Houston, and another Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He also did part of the MBA at Rice University, focusing on Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurship. Lingyi is also serving as Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Innovation Committee member starting from Aug 1st, 2018.

I have been working as a consultant with Ephir Inc. since January 2010. During that time, I have: specified ETLs for a number of EHR and Claims datasets into OMOP, Mini-Sentinal and PCORnet common data models; Installed the OHDSI Web API and Atlas tool set; Developed ETLs to OMOP CDM using AWS RedShift, Oracle, SQL-Server and Postgres for both claims and EHR datasets; QC’ed ETL implementations and OHDIS vocabularies; and implemented code to create Drug and Condition Era tables.
Prior to joining Ephir I worked as a programmer/analyst at IMS Health from June 2004 through Nov 2009. There I developed custom analytic reports, using health care data, for most major drug and other health care related companies.

Mui is a Director of Product Development at IQVIA, managing the OMOP Factory. Mui’s area of expertise include software development, data conversions, agile process, and project management. The OMOP Factory has been performing OMOP ETL conversions on over 12 different datasets in 6 different countries. Mui has gained extensive knowledge working on large patient databases in the OMOP model and the standard vocabularies that are needed to support these conversions.
Mui is an active contributor to the community through various OHDSI working groups. She is one of the co-leaders of the China OMOP CDM/Vocabulary working group. She leads two of the sub-working groups within the THEMIS working group. She has and continues to perform OMOP tutorial trainings to many different organizations and conference, such as the OHDSI Symposiums, the China Hackathons, and individual universities.
Changran Wang, MS, MPH – Assistant Researcher, Fudan University
Changran is an Assistant Researcher in Shanghai Medical School, Fudan University. He is working at Biomedical Informatics Laboratory, contribute to health informatics related projects. Changran’s areas of expertise include clinical data standard, ETL of data, construction of medical database, and data model/standard of clinical system informatics. Changran received his undergraduate degree in Public Health Management at Harbin Medical University, his Master of Science in Information and Technology and Master of Public Health at Claremont Graduate University. Xialin Wang, MS

Xialin is a data scientist at OMOP Studies team at IQVIA. She focused on conducting analysis for OHDSI studies, presenting at OHDSI China tutorials, collaborating with doctors and researchers, and sharing results that uses the OMOP common data model.
Xialin Wang has finished her undergraduate degree in Statistics and Economics from University of Washington and her graduate degree in Biostatistics from Columbia University. Her area of expertise include data mining, data quality assurance, statistical modeling and clinical trials. She participated in several OHDSI activities in China and helped translating the Book of OHDSI and ATLAS to Chinese.
Prior to joining IQVIA, she worked as a biostatistician at The Medicines Company (NJ, USA) and Synyi AI (Shanghai, China).
Andrew Williams, PhD

Dr Williams is a psychologist by training whose work in distributed research networks has included roles as PI, biostatistician, and informatics development.
His roles at Tufts Medical Center and Tufts University include research faculty at ICRHPS, and oversight of research informatics infrastructure at Tufts MC CTSI and at TMC. He helps to lead or contributes to several OHDSI workgroups. He received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa.

Ying is a Clinical Scientist of OHDSI at DHC. Ying has participated the CHARYBDIS study of Nanfang covid-19 database, including the generation of CDMs, R package running and data analysis. She is also taken great contribution for the translation and edit of Book of OHDSI. Ying’s research interests are in the areas of vocabulary, common data model (CDM) and interoperability of CDMs about electric health records. She is currently involved in OHDSI China group. Ying graduated from Capital Medical University,majored in the Department of Human Anatomy and Histology and Embryology, and got her medical PhD degree.
